"Pothos" My Favorite Plant to Propagate in Water - The Brass Butterfly. One of my favorite plants to propagate in water is the Pothos. It is one of the easiest plants to care for and will thrive quickly without much attention. Since it is such a fast grower it can be used to propagate several times throughout its growth cycle. It is very easy to see the root nodes on the stem of the Pothos making it easy to cut for rooting. The nodes produce roots when placed in water. I find that Pothos grows quickly in water. I can put a cutting in my rooter vase and within 3-4 weeks I have enough roots to plant in soil. Pothos can grow without direct sunlight which makes it a great plant to propagate and enjoy anywhere in your home.
